AHA Responds to Report on 340B Program

June 9, 2015

The American Hospital Association (AHA) responded to a report by Avalere Health on acquisitions of independent physician practices by 340B and non-340B hospitals. AHA’s position was that the report “uses a questionable data methodology to identify hospitals that ‘potentially’ acquired physician practices.” According to Linda Fishman, AHA Senior Vice President of Public Policy Analysis and Development, “it is important for policymakers and the public to see through the attempt by the pharmaceutical industry to disparage a program that helps provide access to care for vulnerable communities.”
