Potential Implications to the ACA Under the Incoming Republican Administration

An article by Akerman LLP on Lexology outlined the possible implications of a complete repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including changes to Medicare Part D, state’s reimbursement for Medicaid, and the 340B Program. The article stated that the ACA “added over 1,000 new covered entities” including critical access hospitals, rural referral centers, sole community centers, and freestanding cancer hospitals. “A repeal of the ACA would bar these providers from receiving the discounted drugs, potentially causing patients nationwide to no longer have access to critical medications.”
